This was honestly one of the proudest moments of my life. I had been beat pretty handily by this kid twice at the JV level (he actually pinned me 45 minutes earlier) but I had to step up to face him at varsity 112lb when my teammate got injured. I was able to hit a throw and got a quick pin. This meant so much to me because I sucked at EVERY sport I tried until my 8th grade science teacher convinced me to join the wrestling team (he was the coach). This match was a little over a year after I had joined the sport, and by this time I was a freshman in HS. It felt so nice to be proficient at a sport after being terrible at the rest of them.
